On a site that was once a huge sawmill in the old logging days stands an old locomotive which hauled many logs from the forests around Traverse City to the saw mills. It came from the Day Estate in Leelanau County to Clinch Park, where along with the zoo, aquarium and Con Foster museum, it is a favorite background for thousands of snapshots taken each season by the throngs of visitors who visit the park in downtown Traverse City."
